Newark entrepreneurs and business owners can acquire the knowledge to grow their business and improve. NCEDC has partnered with multiple entrepreneurial workshops to make business planning and coaching available to all Newarkers. We have matched Newark entrepreneurs and businesses to business service organizations such as Rising Tide Community Capital, IFEL, GNEC, and more to ensure that Newark Businesses grow in stride. Below are some of the ways we have worked with local organizations in programming efforts.
- Newark CEDC partnered with IFEL, to offer business training through IFEL’s WIBO 16-Week Workshop.
- 8th Annual Next Level Conference: On January 29, 2016, Newark CEDC collaborated with IFEL to present a long day conference filled with workshops to help entrepreneurs and business owners learn innovative techniques to reboot their business.
Newark CEDC partners with Rising Tide Community Capital to provide business training through their Community Business Academy program.
Newark CEDC in partnership with the Walker's Legacy Foundation offers Moms Who Hustle program- a 12 week financial planning and entrepreneurship program for millennial moms. Moms Who Hustle provides Newark mothers with the tools necessary to achieve economic stability.
iFund Women Newark
An initiative launched in partnership with iFund Women, Newark women entrepreneurs have a support system via a new crowdfunding platform, enabling them to fund their startups and small businesses. Women are encouraged to submit their applications by Thursday, September 21, 2017.
City of Newark, Department of Economic and Housing Development, and Newark CEDC in partnership with the The Cayemitte Group (TCG) launched the Newark CDI Development Initiative designed to help MWBE/DBE and/or SBE Newark businesses grow and qualify for bonding.
