Newark Entrepreneurs and business owners can now acquire the knowledge to grow their business and improve. NCEDC has partnered with multiple entrepreneurial workshops to make business planning and coaching available to all Newarkers. We have matched Newark entrepreneurs and businesses to business service organizations such as Rising Tide Community Capital, IFEL, GNEC, Goldman Sachs and more to ensure that Newark Businesses grow in stride. Below are some of the ways we have worked with local organizations in programming efforts.
- In 2015, Newark CEDC piloted its first Community Storefront Program (CSP) in Newark’s South Ward commercial corridor, Clinton Avenue. In partnership with IFEL, CSP program participants received business training through IFEL’s WIBO 16-Week Workshop. Newark CEDC and IFEL continued their partnership to provide business training for the Central and West Ward community’s aspiring entrepreneurs in Fall 2016 & Spring 2016 classes.
- 8th Annual Next Level Conference: On January 29, 2016, Newark CEDC collaborated with IFEL to present a long day conference filled with workshops to help entrepreneurs and business owners learn innovative techniques to reboot their business.
In 2016, Newark CEDC partnered with Rising Tide Community Capital to provide North & East Ward Community Storefront Program participants business training through their Community Business Academy program.
